9th All African Conference on Animal Agriculture

Date: 9th – 13th August 2026.

Location: Abuja, Nigeria.

This conference will provide a dynamic platform to address critical issues shaping the future of livestock, aquaculture, and non-traditional animal systems in Africa, and is centred around the theme of ‘Repositioning Animal Agriculture for Africa’s Food Security and Global Competitiveness’.

The 9th All African Conference on Animal Agriculture (AACAA) will bring together farmers, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss livestock, aquaculture, and food security and will focus heavily on transforming African livestock farming into a resilient, high-yielding, and economically viable industry.

Supported by the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development (FMLD) and the Africa Society of Animal Science (ASAS),  there will be over 15 specialised sessions taking place during the conference which will cover climate-smart livestock systems, genetic improvement, and digital tools in agriculture, with several prestigious keynote speakers  headlining the event.

Professor Mizeck Chagunda, Director of the Centre for Tropical Livestock Genetics and Health (CTLGH) is attending this conference and will chair a Panel Discussion on “One Health, Climate Change and Sustainable Livestock Systems” on 11th August (Day 3).

Throughout the conference there will be opportunities to build strategic networks, connecting directly with African policymakers, international sponsors, commercial farmers, and leading scientists, whilst the exhibition will showcase new agricultural machinery, veterinary products, and digital software.
