AABNet Book Launch

The African Animal Breeding Network (AABNet) warmly invites you to the official launch of the African-led, open-access Springer publication, African Livestock Genetic Resources and Sustainable Breeding Strategies: Unlocking a Treasure Trove and Guide for Improved Productivity.

This is a landmark open-access publication developed by African scientists for African audiences. It highlights Africa’s rich and diverse animal genetic resources, ranging from cattle to camels, and presents cutting-edge breeding strategies, genetic technologies, and indigenous knowledge.

The launch will be held on Thursday, 20th February 2026, from 9am to 5pm at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) Campus, Nairobi – or please join virtually. The event will be of interest to researchers, breeders, students, policymakers, and livestock industry stakeholders.
